Lithotripsy

Usually renal stones less than 20 mm are opted for this modality. Extracorporeal shock wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) uses highly focused sound waves, projected from outside the body to crush kidney stones anywhere in the urinary system. ESWL by 4th generation Siemens Variostar with Ultrasound attachment helps to treat even Radiolucent stones, which are not visible in normal fluoroscopy Lithotriptor. It eliminates the use of harmful radiation to patients during ESWL. ESWL is done on the Out Door patient procedure.
ESWL requires no anaesthesia hence patient can walk home within few hours.
At our center we offer newer application of shockwave in pain management and for prostatitis, impotency and tendinopathy.

Robotic Surgery – Asian Heart Institute

Robotic Surgical system is a supercomputer with mechanical control over tiny surgical instruments. The robot has no autonomous function. Every movement of the robot arms is controlled by the surgeon. Conventional laparoscopy is limited to two-dimensional vision. The Robotic telescope is actually composed of 2 lenses, slightly separated to give different perspectives of the same field. This creates a 3D, or stereoscopic, image which mimics our natural experience.
